My 1st trip to Dublin

Maman drove me to Dublin for the first time on Friday afternoon and we stayed the night at her cousin David's house as Papa was working on Saturday and didn't want Maman driving up and down in the same day.

We had a lovely time up in the big smoke. I got to meet my Great Auntie Hazel and Great Uncle Derek for the first time and I also got to see David and Abigail again. My 2nd cousin is now crawling around the place and pulling herself to a standing position. She even got her first pair of pre-walkers while I was there! She still seemed unsure of me at times but was much happier around me this time round compared to last time! Maman had some yummy prawn curry for Friday dinner that I got to taste in my milk on Saturday. We also got to leave with two big bin bags of clothes that are too small for Abigail :-)

Teddy Amélie

Teddy Amélie and I are currently inseperable. Granjay kindly gave her to me and even cross-stitched her name across her apron in case she forgot her name!

TA and I had our photo taken together when I did my photo shoot at 1 week old! She gave me hugs when I was feeling a bit shy. I had asked Maman to put her on my window sill to keep her out of harm's way but I've now decided that I don't just want to look at her I want to play with her too :-)

Maman kindly put a French book, an English book and a German book in front of me yesterday so I could decide which one to chew on   read but I simply couldn't decide so I didn't bother choosing any! Check out how well I'm doing sitting on my own now though :-)

I've enjoyed catching up with my buddies since coming back from my travels to Germany & France. I got to spend some time with Poppy on Sunday and I had the privilege of chilling out with Donnchda & Max yesterday and this morning!

Maman keeps putting me behind bars which I don't generally mind as she always gives me stuff to entertain myself with while I'm in my playpen however between you and me I'm also starting to try and figure out how to climb out!!!!!!! I think I got caught by Maman though what do you think? Or is it possible she missed the fact I'd actually pulled myself up?

Maman and I went to my friend Poppy's house yesterday while we waited for Daddy to do kids club at the second service in church. I got to see Poppy eating a yummy avocado, tuna & tomato mix whilst I was still just given breastmilk! I did however get to try out Poppy's tripp trapp highchair so I am aware that Maman is getting ready to start giving me solids! I had a lovely time sitting on Poppy's play blanket with her. Daddy then arrived and played with us too...

Standing is so much fun

I'm really loving this whole standing business!
I used to push myself into a sitting position when Maman would lie me down but now I push myself into a standing position when she tries to sit me down. I think I'm slightly frustrating her always wanting to be one step ahead but I know she thinks it's funny too. To be honest it's all her fault really cos she's the one who gave me the stubborn gene!

Apparently Maman was walking by 9 months but I haven't yet decided if I want to walk a bit before that or maybe later - all I know is that right now I love standing as often as possible. I accidentally spotted some new shoes that Maman got the other day but she hasn't given them to me yet so I'm wondering if they're going to be a Christmas present for me!!!!

a different sort of bath time

Daddy, Maman, and I went to visit my Thurles cousins on Saturday afternoon. Not long after we'd arrived Aoife & Niamh asked if they could give me a bath so Auntie Rachel kindly filled up a bucket with warm water and they all proceeded to bath me in the bucket on the sitting room floor! It was actually a lot of fun. I got to practise steering a boat!!!

Maman thought she'd try and take some portrait photos of me in my pixi outfit as a possible photo for our Christmas card however I didn't really cooperate! My excuse is that we were going to pixi photo for a photo shoot in the evening so I had to try and keep my photo face for then!!! She'd also stuffed me in a bucket with a blanket over it so I wasn't too impressed!

My 1st highchair experience

I had my first high chair experience yesterday when we met up with Naiima & her Mummy to go swimming. Naiima looked so comfortable in hers that I asked Maman if I could do the same. We had a lovely time sitting side by side while Maman and Alison had a nice chat together.

Meeting my cousin Lucy

Maman & I finally got to meet my little cousin Lucy this weekend. I'm still confused as to why she can't be Maman's cousin too though?! Apparently she's something called niece instead? Very strange!

I was allowed to lie down beside my teeny cousin and a lot of photos were taken however any time I wanted to try and hold Lucy's hand or just touch her in general to see what she felt like an adult would stop me which was really frustrating. I did manage to get a few sneaky grabs of her clothes and hand though but please don't let on!

Lucy has more hair than me which has got me thinking that I should maybe start trying to grow mine! She was either very shy or didn't like me much cos she never really seemed in the mood for chatting or playing with me. She did a lot of sleeping or feeding in my opinion but I still really enjoyed meeting her. She didn't have to spend quite so much time in my Maman's arms though!!!

I'm looking forward to seeing her again and for longer in January :-)
