Okay!

My 1st Teddy Mountain

Maman treated me to my first Teddy Mountain this evening :-)

We chose the teddy together and then the clothes to go on her.

After that we brought the cuddly doggy to the shop lady who showed me this big machine full of funny soft white stuff that got blown into "Woof" to make her look more like a cuddly toy rather than a flat pancake!

Once "woof" was more real looking Maman & I took her to a booth where we got her birth certificate done as well as a photo of the three of us :-)

We had great fun!!

Identical coats!!!

Maman found out this evening that my cousin Lucy has the exact same coat that I have!

It just so happens that Maman got mine in the Du Pareil au Meme shop in Cork whilst Tata Emilie got Lucy's in the DPAM shop in Lyon!!! They didn't even know - how funny is that?!?

Cold & Foggy mornings

We've started to get cold and foggy mornings now but that's ok cos I have my fab hat to keep my head warm & Fluffy to keep my body warm :-)

Egarde un lapin

I spotted a rabbit the other morning before getting into the car to go to creche! 

I got so excited he hopped away from me really fast!!!

I remembered to wave and blow a kiss to Maman when she said au-revoir to Aoife & me as we went downstairs...

PS check out how well Aoife says au-revoir. She's been saying loads of French words today repeating what Maman says :-)

My 1st go on a trampoline

I got to try out my cousins' trampoline this afternoon. It was fun but tricky staying upright!!!

16 months and counting

Health

I've finally reached 9.0 kgs exactly! Maman put me on the weighing scales yesterday morning expecting me to weigh ca 8.7 kgs so we were both nicely surprised! I also measured 76 cm against the tree chart in my room. No extra teeth since last month so still 9 left until I have all 20. I've had a really bad nappy rash for the last two days :-( In fact it's so bad that I start crying when I'm doing a wee as it stings. Thankfully Maman figured it out and changes my nappy straight away and ensures she applies LOADS of Mytosil (already noticed it's getting better but guessing this means more teeth are on their way). My two middle fingers that I'm always sucking seem to have got slightly bigger than my other fingers and I possibly have very slight eczema between them due to them being wet so often but other than that I'm in great health :-)

Milestones

Spinning around on myself like a helicopter has become my new thing! (see spinning is fun) I'm really trying to repeat as many words as possible now - I repeated "bye-bye" to my cousins' Nana this afternoon and I even tried to say ordinateur yesterday ("oiaeur") but I refuse to even attempt to say "s'il te plait" or "merci" I don't even try the signs for those two words either!!! I've said "all gone" a few times now too.
I can show you where my nose and mouth are if you ask me and I make the correct sounds for la vache/the cow, le canard/the duck and le chat/the cat. If I hear some say "ou est Amélie?" or "where is Amélie?" I cover my face with both hands and don't move!!!
The biggest milestone this month is that I've finally moved into a forward facing car seat! I had my first drive on the 5th October so aged 16 months & 2 days :-) Maman LOVES being able to see my face when she looks in the rear view mirror and I really enjoyed discovering what goes on outside my car window when we move.

I've now had my first full blown tantrum in public :-( It was so bad that Maman pretended to ignore me while I lay screaming on the ground floor of Mahon Point Shopping centre. I even heard an older lady say "you're doing the right thing" to Maman when she walked past!
I have a strange obsession with our stair gates. I simply have to close AND lock the gate behind me whether I'm going up or down the stairs. I end up getting quite panicked if I can't close it?! I've started managing to lift both my feet off the floor when I jump now, however most of the time it's one foot and then the other after the first foot has touched back down again! Oh and I got my iPhone 5 earlier than I thought! I don't think it's the real one because although it looks very similar, this one is made out of plastic and lights up with cool music but I still like having my own phone!

Meals
I have good & bad days when it comes to eating, however the good days are starting to outnumber the bad much to Papa and Maman's relief! I had my first taste of pizza last week and really enjoyed it :-)

Sleep

I've spent the last month sleeping with my hooded white fluffy rabbit. I've got into the habit of always turning into the exact same position lying on my tummy with my right arm wrapped around her and sucking the two middle fingers of my left hand.
I sleep from 8pm to 7.30am at night and I have been napping for 1/1h30 in the morning and then anything from 30mins to 1hour in the afternoon.

Clothes
still no change from last month ... 9-12 month irish vests & clothes and 18 mois french clothes!!!

Messing with Naiima

Naiima really loves me and I really love her. In this movie she gives me a kiss ...

I love my friends Poppy & Naiima. we always have great fun when we get together.

Increasing my vocabulary...

I can now say the word card in French = "carte"...

I can also let Maman know what sound a cat makes (although it does sound more like a tiger than a cat!)

Lost puppy

We found a lost puppy on our front lawn on Sunday. He was so cute! A little white labrador. I went running over to him initially but then he jumped up on me and licked my face so I got a bit nervous. After that I giggled at him from a distance and ran away from him anytime he came too close to me.

Maman caught him actually biting my jacket in this movie. Apparently that's his way of playing but it didn't seem like that to me!

In the end we found out where he lives and he returned inside :-)

Spinning is fun

I love spinning around on the stools in our kitchen! I wish Maman would spin me a bit faster though ...

I also like to turn round and round like a helicopter! I end up getting quite dizzy though which leads to certain outcomes...

My play date with Brooke

Maman's friend from work Kellie had a baby called Brooke 3 weeks after I was born. I met her for the first time last Saturday when she came to play at my house. We had a great time chasing each other around the house! I was good at sharing some of my toys and then not so good at sharing my favorite ones!!!

I was also fascinated by this pink thing tied in her lovely long blond hair!

So hip it hurts!
