Garden fun

I spent most of the day out in the garden on Saturday as it was a lovely sunny day. Maman eventually managed to distract me long enough that I ended up forgetting she'd put a hat on me and she continued to  smother me in sun protection cream throughout the day! She's since been told that the factor 50 doesn't work and is cancerous so I was wondering if any of you readers have heard that before?!?

Finger food is the only way!

I have become a PIG!!! Now that I've realised just how yummy finger food is there is no stopping me I eat everything you can think of! 

My favourites are blueberries, cheerios, raisins, wheat puffs, ham, peas, cheese and carrot but I also love bread, sweetcorn, broccoli, green beans, chicken, potato, cauliflower, banana, pasta etc! 

Oh yes and there is no keeping me quiet while I eat! If I don't have any food in my mouth I'm chatting away and then when I do have food in my mouth I'm saying miam miam miam the whole time! You'll hear me in the video!

Papa had a hip replacement last week and I've been helping him recuperate :-)

I'm officially walking!!

I have finally started officially walking on my own. It's been one full month since I did my first couple of steps between Maman and Granjay on 29th April and now I'm walking around and balancing really carefully with my arms up in the air and stopping for a while before continuing on. Here are 3 separate videos for you to look at just to see I'm telling the truth!

I'm a little human propellor!

Check out these following movies! I am so raring to go but I just haven't quiet got the hang of standing still in one place so I can learn to balance properly. Instead I propel myself and then land flat on my face :-( I've even got to the stage of being able to walk on my own as long as I feel that someone is holding me even if it's by the top of my cardigan!!!

A cool pram from Granjay & Grandpa

I got to try out my birthday present from Granjay & Grandpa last night too but it's since gone back in its box until my birthday too!!!

It's a gorgeous wooden pram that is lovely and sturdy for pushing and walking behind!Thank you VERY much for it Granjay & Grandpa :-) I have to learn to steer it though so I'm going to pluck up the courage to ask Maman and Papa if they could possibly leave it out and let me continue playing with it so I can use it perfectly by my birthday! What do you think Granjay & Grandpa should it stay closed up in it's box for another 3 weeks? Won't it get lonely?

My very own rocking horse

I helped Papa build my birthday present from Maman and him yesterday evening. It's my very own rocking horse made out of wood and in lovely bright colours! I had a great time rocking in it (well actually I was rocked in it) but now I gather I'm not allowed to use it until my birthday!!! Hmm I might have to do my puppy dog eyes to get another go on it beforehand who knows maybe that will work...

Naiima's 1st Birthday Party

It was Naiima's 1st Birthday Party today and we had great fun kissing each other, playing in the bouncy castle and watching the adults eat their BBQ. Her real birthday is in two days time on 8th May I must not forget to remind Maman to send a text message!

11 Months & counting

Seriously, where does the time fly to?!? In less than 1 month I will be a ONE YEAR old!!!! My BIG news is that I took my first solo steps the weekend before my 11th Monthiversary. Granjay & Maman got me started and Grandpa filmed me walking from one to the other. I've been practicing a few solo steps every day since :-) I'm having a wonderful time at creche the 3 Marys that mind me think I'm hilarious and apparently told Papa that they wished they could clone me! 

Health
I currently weigh 7.6kgs and measure 70cms! I now have 2 bottom teeth and 3 top teeth with a 4th top tooth about to cut through any day. I no longer grate my teeth much to Maman & Papa's relief!

Milestones

Maman reckons I now have a new word in my vocabulary: "egade" I use it when I'm pointing something out. Apparently the correct word is "regarde" but whatever! My list of words used in the right context is now: Mama, Dada, auvoi and egade. I used to say "Papa" but I haven't said it in a while now so I might have forgotten that word in the same way that I can't remember how to say woof woof anymore!?! I now just make a "hmm hmm" noise when Maman asks me what a dog does but I can manage "beeeehhhh" for a sheep, "wack wack" for a duck  and I do an excellent growl for a tiger :-) 

I now wave when I hear the words "bonjour", "aurevoir", "hello", "hiya" or "bye" and I clap when I hear "bravo", "tape les mains" and "clap hands". 

I LOVE giving people kisses and I'm so close to mastering the art of blowing kisses! Since yesterday I now put my hand on my mouth and kiss my hand and then after a few seconds I start waving! I also have great fun putting my finger to my bottom lip to make a brrrrr sound! 

Meals
Last month I mentioned that Maman and Papa weren't impressed with my eating habits. All I can say at this stage is please watch this space :-(  

Sleep patterns

Apart from some nights where my teeth are particularly at me and I end up waking up with the pain, I mostly sleep through the night from 8pm until Maman wakes me up to go to creche at 7am. I'm now also sleeping between 1h30 and 2h during the day at creche generally from 10.30/11am until 12.30pm. Maman would still like me to sleep one more hour but as it stands I'm having between 12 and 13h of sleep in every 24 hours which is still good in my opinion! 

Clothes
still in 6-9 month clothes but also in 12 month French clothes that go up to 74cms!

Beaker drinker

Maman forgot to upload this movie of me drinking from my beaker over the weekend. Aren't I a big girl actually doing it all on my own now?!? I've got much better at actually getting the liquid into my mouth since then too ;-)

Windscreen wipers!

Meeting Isabel Alice Crowley

I got to meet another baby girl yesterday called Isabel. She was born on the 2nd August 2011 so just a day short of 2 months after me. Her mum is Susan Appelbe. I gather Maman's family and the Appelbes know each other for 30+ years (wow that's a very long time...)

Here are some photos and videos of me playing with Isabel. I steal a toy off her in one movie but then she gets her own back by bitting my clothes in the other movie!
